Strategy
As franchisor, much of your growth in the next decade will come from expansion of your franchise network. Without the ability to delegate, think strategically, and use more sophisticated management tools, expansion can be a nightmare instead of an opportunity. Do you have what it takes to take the franchise to the next level?
Describe your franchise business profile and concept, franchisee signup process, and future plans.
System
While many of your franchisees may be successful at operating at stable growth, how many possess the skills to handle rapid growth in expanding markets? How effective is your system in supporting such growth? Opening additional units make sense only if you have the ability to effectively manage multiple unit operations.
Describe the management and operations support given to your franchisees, including communications channels and assistance in various key areas (except for branding and marketing areas which will be covered in the next section).
Franchisor should always gather sufficient information to understand the target markets. Information such as market size and share, demographics, demand projected sales and competition, is critical. Such information is often used to develop appropriate tactics to penetrate new markets in terms of marketing & sales techniques, brand positioning, pricing strategy and distribution channels.
Describe your marketing and promotion strategies, and how you work together with your franchisees to achieve them.
Franchise Relations
One critical element in building a successful franchise is to establish a strong franchisor and franchisee relation. How can you motivate your franchisees? What are the signs that things are not going well? How training and other support should be provided to assure a win/win relationship with your franchisee.
Describe how you maintain healthy relations with your franchisee.
