About the Award

The FLA Award, launched by the Franchising and Licensing Association (FLA) Singapore in 2005, gives franchisors the recognition they deserve.

The Award provides a platform to showcase successful franchise concepts, thus facilitating further developments of the franchise companies in international markets. Over 200 companies have since benefitted from the Awards, including brands like 7-Eleven, V-Kool International, The Pizza Company, Little Sheep, Waraku, just to name a few.

FLA started as Singapore’s national franchising body and was one of the founding members of the World Franchise Council. FLA, which was formerly known as the Singapore International Franchise Association, was established in 1993 with the mission of nurturing and developing Singapore’s franchising industry.

Heeding the Singapore Government’s call to move towards a knowledge-based economy; coupled with the increasing synergy between Franchising, Branding and Technology Licensing, the Association has taken the initiative of enlarging the membership representation and scope of the Association to include companies engaged in Branding and Technology Licensing.

FLA Singapore’s mission is to assist its members to gain greater exposure locally and internationally through networking events, exhibitions and trade missions. At the same time, it aims to upgrade its members’ skills and knowledge in franchising, branding and licensing through its various educational programs.
